Roots was born from a simple idea and a deep passion. In 1973, founders Michael Budman and Don Green launched the brand, inspired by their close bond with Ontario’s Algonquin Park. What began in Toronto with handcrafted footwear has grown into a wide-ranging collection featuring premium leather bags, jackets, accessories, the iconic salt & pepper sweats, natural fiber clothing, and home décor. Staying true to its heritage, Roots continues to craft its leather goods in Canada at its very own factory in Toronto.
